Create a Legal Invention Disclosure request

    • Create a Legal Invention Disclosure request to provide detailed information about the invention.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_lg_ops.legal_user

    Procedure

    1. Access the Legal Invention Disclosure intake form.
      1. Navigate to All > Employee Center.
      2. Navigate to Help center > Legal services > ..
      3. Select Intellectual Property category.
      4. Select Invention Disclosure Request.
    2. On the Legal Invention Disclosure request form, fill in the fields.
      For a description of the field values, see Legal Invention Disclosure form.
    3. Optional: Add any attachments with details of the invention to the request, if any.
    4. Select Submit.

    Result

    • A Legal Invention Disclosure request is created in the New state.
    • A unique request ID is generated.
    • The application status in Legal Counsel Center is set to New.
    • The request is assigned to a group or user in the legal department based on the assignment rules set in the associated practice area. For more information, see Assignment rule to automatically assign legal requests or matters.
    • You will begin receiving notifications about the progress of the request.
