Projects facilitate creating a team consisting of multiple roles filled by multiple people. Projects can be broad in scope and be long-term or short-term in duration. Projects and other opportunity types are configured by ServiceNow admins from the Opportunity Type Configuration form.
Projects are temporary opportunities, but they can be either long-term or short-term in duration. Projects enable areas of career growth and development that can help employees gain visibility and experience. Projects can be customized to fit your needs.

* Demonstrate skills
* Innovate processes and deliverables
* Solve complex problems
* Demonstrate the ability to handle responsibility
* Lead teams

Projects enable managers to pull quickly from an available pool of resources and skills. For more information about opportunity types, see [Opportunity Type Configuration for Opportunity Marketplace](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/ymRKHV7hAqAh5cYQ89VG0w "Opportunity Marketplace (OPM) supports different opportunity types that are designed for unique types of opportunities and roles.").
