Managing safety knowledge articles

  • As a safety manager or agent, you can manage safety-related knowledge base articles in the Health and Safety Workspace.

    The Health and Safety Knowledge is the same as the ServiceNow AI Platform Knowledge Management. For more information, see Knowledge Management.

    Knowledge-related tasks in the Health and Safety Workspace

    Based on your access permissions, you can perform the following Knowledge-related tasks in the Health and Safety Workspace:
    • Create and publish an article to make it available to employees.
    • View published, unpublished, and retired articles separately.
    • Update the article at any time if necessary.
    • Retire the article if it’s no longer required.
    • Republish a retired article if necessary.
    • Delete an article.

    Knowledge articles available with Health and Safety

    The following empty knowledge base articles are available with the Health and Safety applications. You can update them according to your organizational needs and workflow.
    • Safety statement: Use it to enter your company's safety statement.
    • Health and Safety contacts: Add your local health and safety team contact numbers, emergency response numbers, or any other contacts that employees should use in the event of a safety incident or emergency.
    • Investigation Plan: Use it to enter your company's investigation plan.
    • Health and Safety submission guidelines: Use it to enter your company's safety submission guidelines.

    Employees can access these knowledge articles from the Employee Center by navigating to Health and Safety > Policy and procedures.

    Accessing knowledge articles in Health and Safety Workspace

    To view a list of all knowledge base articles in the Health and Safety Workspace,
    1. Navigate to Health and Safety Workspace and select the configuration icon (Configuration icon).
    2. In the Configuration tab, select Knowledge.
    Note:
    By default, the knowledge list in the Health and Safety Workspace is filtered by the Knowledge base = Safety filter. However, to view all articles from other knowledge bases, you can do the following:
    • Select the filter icon (filter icon) in the list and remove the Knowledge base = Safety filter.
    • Additionally, to remove this default filter setting from the Knowledge list in the Health and Safety Workspace, remove it in the UIB related list configuration. For more information, see Lists
