## Summary of Analyzing Safety Incident Patterns

The Incident Patterns tab on the Health and Safety dashboard offers safety managers an automated, real-time view of recurring safety incident trends within their organization.
This functionality helps safety teams quickly identify clusters of risk and assess their severity, enabling more informed decision-making and proactive risk management.

## Prerequisites and Access

* Ensure the Health and Safety Incident Management application is installed.
* Verify that the ServiceNow Otto for Health and Safety plugin is enabled.
* Configure inclusion of incident records with sensitive data if required.
* Confirm all related jobs for generating incident patterns are running properly.
* User roles needed to view the dashboard include **snohsim.manager** and **snohsim.agent** . To edit the dashboard or visualizations, **snohsim.admin** and **uibuilderadmin** roles are required respectively.

## Accessing the Dashboard

Navigate within ServiceNow to **Workspaces \> Health and Safety Workspaces** and select the **Incident Pattern** tab on the Health and Safety dashboard to access the incident pattern analytics.

## Key Features and Metrics

The dashboard includes several AI-driven cards and visualizations that provide insights into incident patterns:

* **Health and Safety Pattern Impact Summary:** An AI-generated banner summarizing the most significant risk drivers organization-wide based on current pattern data.
* **Patterns Identified:** Displays the total count of detected incident patterns from the latest analysis.
* **Pattern Urgency:** Breaks down all identified patterns by urgency level, showing counts and percentage shares.
* **Actions Created:** Counts corrective actions that have been generated from analyzing the patterns.
* **Patterns by Urgency:** A detailed, sortable table listing patterns by urgency, allowing users to select and triage individual records.
* **Pattern Urgency Trend:** Monthly trend visualization showing changes in pattern urgency levels over time.
* **Pattern Volume Trend:** Monthly totals of patterns identified, segmented by urgency levels.

The agentic workflow for analyzing patterns, identifying risk drivers, and recommending corrective actions is enabled by default, enhancing automation and insight generation.

## Customization

Dashboard widgets and visualizations can be customized to meet specific organizational needs using the **UI Builder**, allowing safety managers to tailor metrics and views for optimal relevance and utility.
The Incident patterns tab of the Health and Safety dashboard provides safety managers with an automated, real-time overview of the recurring patterns across their safety incident data.

The tab is designed to help the safety teams quickly understand where risks are clustering and how serious they are.
