Pre-seeding automatically detects missing skills in employee profiles and prompts employees to add necessary skills, helping keep profiles current and accurate.

## About pre-seeding {#pre-seeded-skills__section_l1z_3n5_yxb}

Pre-seeding refers to the automated inclusion of essential skills that are required for a specific role without the need for employees to manually list them. The Skills Foundation application uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract and categorize these skills from resumes or LinkedIn profiles. These necessary skills are automatically detected
by the system and are communicated to the employee when they're onboarded with the help of Proactive Prompts.

## How pre-seeding works {#pre-seeded-skills__section_unv_lgf_1yb}

The application is constantly analyzing anonymous profiles or resumes with selected job portals. It extracts the skills and tracks what titles people use in their resumes. The application can also extract more information to
provide customizable solutions that are unique to your requirements.

The application matches information from employee resumes or LinkedIn profiles. By using AI models, the application analyzes this information and detects foundational skills missing from the employee profile. This prompt with
the pre-seeded skills helps your employees to update their skills.

The following image shows a pre-seeded skill prompt.

In the example, the employee received a notification based on what the application knows about that employee. The application notices a skill gap in their profile and prompts the employee to add the needed information.
