![](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/portal-asset/ico-clock) 1 minute to read
Compose and send emails directly from the legal request record form in the Legal Counsel Center. You can also save the email as a draft to send it later.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_lg_ops.legal_fulfiller
Note:
An administrator can define email client recipient qualifiers to control which contacts appear in the To, Cc, and Bcc fields when composing email. For more information, see [Email client configurations](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=email-client-configuration&version=australia&pubname=australia-platform-administration&ft:locale=en-US).

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllLegal RequestLegal Counsel Center.
2. Select the list icon (![List icon]()).
3. In the Lists tab, under Legal Requests, select Assigned to Me.
4. Open a legal request.
5. Select the more actions button (![More actions button icon.]()) and then select Compose Email.
The Compose Email button is available only when the legal request is in the Assigned or Work in progress state.
6. In the New Email Draft tab, compose a new email or respond to the email received.
Using response templates, you can insert predefined content into the email body. Select the response template icon (![Response template icon.]()) and find an appropriate response template based on the subject of your email. Copy and paste the template's content into the email body.
   Note:
Only response templates configured for the email channel are available to use. For more information, see [Response templates configured for email channel](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/4~aZBxNjgRz3i7sA8u4c0A "Create or modify a response template with a reusable message that legal fulfillers can use to send users quick and consistent messages. They can use these reusable messages in their assigned legal requests or legal matter forms, as well as in chat sessions or emails.").
7. Send it right away or save it as a draft to send later.
   * To send the email immediately, select Send Email.
   * To save the email as draft, select Save as draft.
     Note:
You can view the draft emails by selecting the list icon (![List icon]()), selecting the Drafts list item under the Email category, and opening a draft email.

## Result

After the email is sent, it is added to the activity stream on the legal request form. Emails you receive from others are also added to the activity stream.

Legal requests marked as Privileged and Confidential contain confidentiality markers for both system-generated notifications and fulfiller-initiated outbound emails.
