# Create courses to add to a course catalog

# Create courses to add to a course catalog {#ariaid-title1}

After creating a course catalog, create new course items to add to the course catalog
and categorize them accordingly.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_lc.learning_admin, sn_lc.learning_course_catalog_admin

Create a course catalog, for more information see, [Create a course catalog](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/QAHxRQ9AYwID6~8DX_sG_Q "Create a course catalog to maintain courses under one category and drive access control.").  
Note:  
Skills information associated with Cornerstone courses is not available.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to LearningAdministrationCourse Catalog.
2. Open the course catalog that you want to add courses to.
3. On the Learning Course Items tab, select New.
4. Select the type of course item that you want to create:  
   * To create internal learning content, see [Create internal learning content](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/rl6iypvp~qRBLTwzh3A1gA "Create internal learning courses so that employees can learn new content and enhance their skills set.").
   * To create a content collection, see [Create a content collection](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/LlG7z1PzFd~SBQRj6ZB1AA "Create a content collection in Learning Core to dynamically group learning content that includes multiple internal and external courses.").

5. Select Submit.
