Create and manage a safety action in the Action planner

  • Create and manage safety actions in context while reviewing a Health and Safety record, without opening a separate Action form.

    About this task

    With Action planner, you can manage actions in context while reviewing a Health and Safety record. The Action planner is available on any Health and Safety record that has the Actions tab.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Health and Safety Workspace.
    2. Open a safety record such as a safety incident or a risk assessment.
    3. Select the Action Planner icon Action Planner icon) from the contextual sidebar panel.
      Any existing actions linked to this record are displayed as cards.
    4. In the Action planner sidebar, select Add new action.
    5. On the form, fill in the fields.
      For information on field descriptions, see Health and Safety action form.
    6. Select Save.
      The action is created and appears as a card in the Created actions section of the action planner.
    7. Optional: To edit or open an action separately, select an option in the Created actions section.

      Edit an existing action
      1. Locate the action card you want to edit.
      2. Select the edit icon on the card.

        The inline Edit action form opens with the current fields pre-filled.

      3. Update the fields as needed and select Save.
      Open an action record in full
      1. Locate the action card you want to open.
      2. Select the Open record icon () on the card.

      The action record opens as a new tab in the associated Health and Safety record.

    8. Optional: To find a specific action, use the search, filter, or sort options in Action planner.
      • Search: Enter text in the search bar. The actions list filters as you type.
      • Filter: Select Type filter next to the search bar to filter actions by their type, such as Corrective or Preventive.
      • Sort: Select the sort option to sort actions in ascending or descending order.

    Result

    • The action appears as a card in the Created actions section of the action planner.
    • The action also appears in the list of actions in the Actions tab of the associated Health and Safety record. It is also listed in the Actions list on Health and Safety Workspace.
