Employee Slate canvas module
Canvas module provides a customizable workspace where employees can add, resize, and arrange widgets from a library to create personalized dashboards for their daily work.
Canvas module is accessible from the side navigation menu and provides employees with a customizable workspace. Employees can personalize their canvas by adding widgets from an administrator-curated library, resizing widgets, and arranging them according to their preferences.
Default canvas widgets
Canvas includes three default widgets:- Calendar
- Shows upcoming meetings with join buttons for direct access. Employees can open Outlook for detailed views and refresh the widget to pull in the latest meetings. Synchronization occurs based on administrator-configured intervals.
- My Requests
- Displays all requests sorted by recently updated ones. Employees can view all requests or select individual items for more details.
- Featured Apps
- Shows an administrator-curated set of applications. Employees can navigate to a full-page My Applications experience to view all available apps, recently opened apps, and sort them alphabetically.
Widget customization
Canvas supports the following customization capabilities:- Widget addition: Employees can select the plus icon to select and add widgets from the administrator-provided library.
- Widget resizing: Widgets can be resized to fit employee preferences and information density requirements.
- Widget arrangement: Employees can drag and position widgets anywhere on the canvas.
- Save changes: Employees can save their canvas configuration after making position and size adjustments.
Administrator control
Administrators control the canvas experience through:- Widget library: Administrators curate the available widgets that employees can add to their canvas.
- Default configuration: Administrators set the initial canvas layout and default widgets.
- Synchronization settings: Administrators configure refresh intervals for widgets that sync with external systems.
