Create a safety incident or observation as a safety agent or supervisor

    • Begin the investigation for a safety incident or observation by reporting it on behalf of an employee.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_ohs_im.operations_manager, sn_ohs_im.manager, or sn_ohs_im.agent

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Health and Safety > Health and Safety Workspace.
    2. Select the incident management icon (Incident Management icon.).
    3. In the Lists tab, open the safety incident or observation list.
      • For the safety incidents list, select Safety Incidents and then All.
      • For the safety observations list, select Safety Observations and then All.
    4. Select New.
    5. On the form, fill in the fields.
      • For a safety incident, fill in the fields in the Enter incident summary activity in the Report an incident tab.
      • For a safety observation, fill in the fields in the Details tab.
      Note:
      To enable the map component in the Health and Safety Workspace install the Geo map component [sn_geo_map] plugin. For more information, see Additional features in Health and Safety.
    6. Optional: If necessary, attach an image about the incident or observation using the Attachments section.
    7. Select Save.

    Result

    Based on the selected category, a safety incident or observation is created in the New state.

    What to do next

    As a safety manager or agent, you can assign the incident or observation to yourself and start working on it. You can also assign it to another safety agent. For more information, see Assign a safety incident or observation.
