# Cancel a privacy assessment request

# Cancel a privacy assessment request {#ariaid-title1}

Cancel a privacy assessment request if it is no longer necessary.

## Before you begin

Note:  
You can cancel a privacy assessment request regardless of its state.

Role required: sn_lg_ops.legal_user

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllLegal RequestLegal Service Portal.
2. Select View all from the My Requests panel.
3. Open your submitted privacy assessment request.
4. From the Actions menu, select Cancel Request.
5. In the Confirm request cancellation dialog box, provide the reason for the cancellation in the Comments field.
6. Select Confirm Cancellation.  
   The request is canceled and the cancellation comments appear in the Additional Comments section of the request.

   Any associated active flows are terminated. Any pending approval record is also canceled and a comment is posted in the Additional Comments section of the approval record.
