# Request document access for a legal matter

Request access to documents attached to a legal matter that you do not currently have
access to.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_lg_ops.legal_user or sn_lg_ops.legal_fulfiller

## About this task

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllLegal RequestLegal Counsel Center.
2. In the Legal Counsel Center tab, select the list icon (![List icon]()).
3. In the Lists tab, under Matters, click All.
4. Open a legal matter for which you want to request document access.
5. In the Artifacts tab, open an artifact.
6. In the Documents tab, select the documents for which you want access, and click Request Access.

## Result

The system processes the user's permissions and grants access to the documents in the
matter artifact.
