# Delegate legal duties to another user

Delegate legal duties relating to your assigned legal requests, legal matters, legal
matter tasks, and approvals to another user when you might not have time or are
unavailable.

## Before you begin

Role required:
legal_fulfiller

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllLegal RequestLegal Counsel Center.
2. Click the list icon (![List icon]()).
3. In the Set Delegate, click My Delegates.
4. In the My Delegates list, click New.
5. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | User | User who delegates legal duties to a delegate. |
   | Delegate | User to whom you are delegating legal duties assigned to you. Note: The delegate must be from the assignment group of which you are a member. |
   | Starts | Start date of the delegation period. |
   | Ends | End date of the delegation period. |
   | Approvals | Option to delegate approvals. Select this option to authorize the delegate to approve or reject the approvals you've been assigned. |
   | Assignments | Option to delegate assignments. Select this option to grant the delegate the same level of access to all approvals, legal requests, legal matters, and matter tasks as you. |
   | All notifications | Option to delegate notifications. Select this option to send a copy of any notifications you receive to the delegate during the delegation period. |

6. Click Save.

## Result

Setting the delegation has the following effects during the specified period:

* The delegate can access and perform all the functions that you can do for your assigned legal requests, legal matters, matter tasks, and approvals from the Delegated to me list.
* Both you and the delegate receive notifications related to activities done on legal requests, legal matters, matter tasks, and approvals.
