    • Provide the information related to a Legal Invention Disclosure request to an outside counsel for review to determine whether to apply for a patent.

    Antes de Iniciar

    A legal matter related to the request with which an outside counsel is associated must exist.

    Role required: sn_lg_ip.patent_fulfiller

    Procedimento

    1. Navigate to All > Legal Counsel Center.
    2. Select the List icon (List icon) from the primary navigation and in the Legal Requests section of the Lists menu, select All.
    3. Open the Legal Invention Disclosure request.
    4. Select the Legal Matters tab.
    5. Open the matter associated with the request.
    6. Select Proceed with application.

      A matter task named "Proceed with application" is generated and can be viewed in the Tasks tab. The State is updated to Work in Progress and the Application status is updated to Proceed with application.

      If an optional reward to the inventor at the Proceed with application stage has been set up, it is processed and sent to the inventor.

    7. Create a document to provide the application information to outside counsel by selecting Generate PDF.
      The complete matter details are captured in the PDF and stored in the Artifacts tab. You can also save the PDF to external storage if it is configured.
    8. Compose and send an email with the matter PDF to the outside counsel for review.
      1. Select Compose Email.
      2. Attach the PDF and any other supporting documents by selecting the associated check boxes and then selecting Select documents.
      3. In the email message, verify the outside counsel's email address in the To field.
      4. Opcional: Modify the default text in the Subject field.
      5. Select Send email.
