Microsoft Teams Chat widget in Employee Center

  • The Teams Chat widget enables employees to view or continue chats with agents and view and access the content of attached files in the Employee Center. This widget is available through the IT Service Management integration with the Microsoft Teams application.

    Using the Teams Chat widget, employees can access ticket-specific Microsoft Teams chat conversations in Employee Center. If you are installing ServiceNow for Microsoft Teams in your environment, the Teams Chat widget feature is applicable to the following tables:

    • Request Item (sc_req_item)
    • Incident (incident)
    • Change request (change_request)

    The admin can extend the Teams Chat widget feature to other tables.

    Employees can take the following actions associated with their tickets:

    • View the chat conversations with agents.
    • View and access the content of attached files shared with agents.
    • Continue a chat conversation with the agent handling the ticket using the Microsoft Teams application without having to exit the Employee Center.
    • View the list of people involved in their chat conversation.
