# Add or modify employee positions

As part of the Human Resources setup process, you define positions to describe employee job functions within the organization. Positions are associated with employees in the HR profile.{#t_DefiningOrganizationPositions__hr_pos_sd}

Create position records for your organization. Other organization information, such
as location and department information, is already set up in the ServiceNow system
and used in User \[sys_user\] records.

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllHR AdministrationManaged ListsPositions.
2. Click New to create a position, or click an entry to open an existing position.  
   If you view an existing position, the HR Profiles related list displays HR profiles of users assigned to the position at the bottom. {#t_DefiningOrganizationPositions__1}

3. Enter the Position title and select the Department. {#t_DefiningOrganizationPositions__2}

5. Click Save to stay on the Positions form or Submit or Update to return to the Positions list. {#t_DefiningOrganizationPositions__4}
