In Critical Event Management (CEM), agents can view a list and update the status of impacted people in a critical event.

Tracking the status of people during a critical event is important for their safety and well-being. This feature helps responders and agents to coordinate effectively, prioritize assistance where it's needed most, and maintain a
clear communication. By monitoring the status of impacted individuals, organizations can minimize harm, provide timely support, and maintain accountability in managing the critical event.

When a critical event occurs, a list of people impacted by the event automatically populates for that location. On-site responders can only view the impacted people assigned to their
specific location. To learn more about configuring the impacted people list, see [Location hierarchy and child locations](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/AyQcOzg3lThJLKFDhEbDPw "The list of impacted people is populated based on the selected location and includes individuals from any child locations in the Location [cmn_location] table hierarchy.").

If you're an agent, you can access the list of impacted people on the Impacted people tab of a critical event record. To learn how to generate this list for new critical events, see [Generate impacted people list](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/vt4IAi3MhxCCpPy1zLAvCQ "Generate an impacted people list for a critical event in Critical Event Management. The impacted people list is used to account for every individual in the critical event location.").

On the record of an impacted person, you can view the person's information, such as status and emergency number. For more information on how to view an impacted person's record, see [View an impacted person record](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/BzPt3Z0UIg8KXaXpJwl0cA "View and track the status of an impacted person's record as an agent in Critical Event Management."). To compare the possible statuses, see [Impacted people status](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/4r7AnQm_JxAx6xQCvin27w "Descriptions of the possible statues for impacted people.").

A critical event might occur when there are visitors at the critical event location. You can manually add and track the status of people who wouldn't generate automatically in the list of impacted people. To
learn how to add someone to the list manually, see [Add a person manually to the impacted people list](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/QDA~W4VqGwWikZmzEQIYUQ "Manually add people to the impacted people list who may have visited the critical event location. Adding people help account for visitors, as their names won’t be automatically generated in the impacted people list.").
