# Notifications for Employee Center

Notifications for Employee Center functionality provides a unified notifications experience on the portal for different tasks, activities, and other relevant information.  
Notifications for Employee Center functionality is available when you have the Employee Center plugin (sn_ex_sp) version 36.0, the Notifications for Employee Center plugin (sn_ex_sp_notifs), and the Yokohama release version installed.  
Nota:  
Installation of the Notifications for Employee Center plugin (sn_ex_sp_notifs) is required to avail the functionality.

Notifications for Employee Center functionality is configurable for other portals too, like the Employee Center Pro Kiosk.  
Nota:  
Notifications for Employee Center isn't configurable on Now Mobile®.  
With notifications for Employee Center, you can:

* Get default and configurable portal notification content.
* Get read or unread and seen or unseen indicators.
* Mark notifications critical to attract attention.
* Group notifications while delivering multiple notifications at the same time.

With the notifications header option, you can:

* Get a bell icon on the portal header for tracking.
* Get notification count displayed on the bell icon.
* Turn on or off the display of the notification count.

Turn off notifications altogether, if it isn't relevant for you.

## Notifications actions {#notifications-ec__section_o1m_l5k_5dc}

Use Notifications filters to refine your search when you have a long list. The filters are configurable according to your requirements. The following are the default options:

* Critical
* Reminder

Mark all your notifications read altogether with the Mark all as read option available on the global utility ellipses option.  
Notifications actions available for each notification are:

* Mark As Read
* Remind me
  * In 30 mins
  * In 1 hour
  * Next week

* Clear notification

## Notifications in Content engagement for Employee Center Pro {#notifications-ec__section_notifications_content_eng}

There are two predefined notifications available with Content engagement for Employee Center Pro version 1.3.

* Notify author if news has a reaction: The author of a news article is notified when someone reacts to a published news article. The notifications are grouped together, if multiple reactions are received.
* Notify author if news has a comment: The author of a news article is notified when someone comments on their published news article. The notifications are grouped together, if multiple comments are received.

If the author clicks on a news article notification for an expired article, it won't be visible anymore.

## Notifications in the Browser Extension for Employee Center {#notifications-ec__section_notfications_ecbe}

Get Notifications for Employee Center in the Browser Extension for Employee Center.

You must have the Browser Extension for Employee Center plugin (sn_ex_brw_ext) version 1.0 installed to get the default Notifications configuration ECBE configuration.

The Display mode available for the ECBE configuration is only Page view.
