Quick overview
- Active schedules: Displays the count of all active IP-based and Cloud Discovery schedules. Clicking the count navigates to the Schedules page for detailed management.
- Error tasks: Shows active Discovery error tasks within a selected timeframe. Selecting this count opens the Case management tab on the Diagnostics page to view and manage these tasks.
- Schedules with anomalies: Indicates Discovery schedules with detected anomalies if anomaly detection is enabled. Clicking the count directs you to detailed anomaly information. You can enable anomaly detection via the Settings page.
- Users can refresh data visualizations and configure the time scale for displayed counts in the Settings page to tailor monitoring periods.
Discovery Operations Monitor
This feature provides insights into discovery performance metrics including transaction volumes, sensor job efficiency, MID Server queue loads, and probe processing times. Access the dashboard via View dashboard for detailed operational monitoring.
Discovery admin tasks
Focuses on managing the three most critical active Discovery error tasks with options to edit, assign, and add work notes. For comprehensive error task management, View all opens the Case management tab. Note that this section only includes errors associated with tasks, not all Discovery errors.
Discovery tuning advice
Offers automated recommendations to optimize Discovery and MID Server configurations based on scans of your instance. Findings are prioritized by criticality; selecting a finding links to detailed tuning checks. You can explore all tuning reports on the Tuning page.
Quick Discovery
Enables on-demand discovery outside scheduled runs by entering IP addresses, ranges, or networks. You can select a specific MID Server, cluster, or allow Discovery to auto-select a MID Server, facilitating flexible discovery of devices as needed.
ITOM Visibility apps
Enhances Discovery Admin Workspace capabilities through integration with additional ITOM Visibility applications. The View all option shows installed apps and those available for installation. Application updates require admin role privileges. Pricing and packaging details are managed separately via contracts.

Provides access to the ITOM Visibility Knowledge Base with articles, blogs, and video tutorials to help manage Discovery and troubleshoot errors. Ensure ITOM Content Service version 1.2.8 or later is installed for resource access. Quick overview
View the status of discovery using data counts and identify any irregularities that might impact discovery. For detailed information, select the appropriate tile.
Select the More options icon (), then select Refresh to refresh the data for each visualization in this section.
The following data counts display in the Quick overview section:
- Active schedules
- Displays the number of active IP-based and Cloud Discovery schedules run to date. Selecting this number opens the Schedules page, where you can view all the Discovery schedules that are configured and enabled to run.
- Error tasks

Displays the active, including pending or in-progress, Discovery error tasks opened in a certain time period. Selecting this number redirects you to the Case management tab on the Diagnostics page, where you can view all Discovery error tasks.
- Schedules with anomalies
- Displays the number of Discovery schedules with anomalies detected over a certain time period. This count only displays when anomaly detection is enabled. If anomaly detection is inactive, select Turn
on to access the Settings
page.
Selecting this number redirects you to the Anomaly detection tab on the Diagnostics page, where you can view details about the type and severity of anomalies.
- Discovery Operations Monitor
- Monitor discovery performance across your IT environment. Select View dashboard to open the dashboard and view performance metrics for transactions, sensor jobs, MID Server queue load, and probe processing times. For more information, see Discovery Operations Monitor dashboard.

Fine-tune Discovery and MID Server settings with automated suggestions derived from scans of your instance. These findings identify potential issues, arranged in order of their criticality. Selecting a finding redirects you to the Tuning check page for more details. To view all tuning checks and latest reports, select View all to access the Tuning page.
