# View a timeline of the alerts in an alert group

# View a timeline of the alerts in an alert group {#ariaid-title1}

Gain insight into the sequence of events relating to an issue by viewing chronological information of the alerts in an alert group in Express List.

## Before you begin

Role required: evt_mgmt_operator, evt_mgmt_admin

## About this task

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesService Operations Workspace.
2. In the primary navigation, select the Express List icon (![Express List icon.]()).
3. In the Active alerts list, select the information icon (![Information icon.]() for an alert.
4. On the preview panel Alerts tab, select Timeline view.
5. Analyze the information provided in the Timeline view.
6. **Optional:** Sort the displayed alerts by ascending or descending time or by severity.
   1. Select the sorting icon (![Sorting icon in Timeline view.]()).
   2. Select the preferred sorting option from the pop-up menu.

7. **Optional:** Show or hide closed alerts by toggling the Hide closed alerts slider.
