To enable a ServiceNow instance to collect and evaluate metrics, you must create a distributed MID Server cluster, associate MID Servers with the cluster, and enable Metric Intelligence for your MID Server.

## Before you begin

Ensure that the following plugins are installed on your instance:

* Event Management (com.glideapp.itom.snac)
* Metric Intelligence - com.snc.sa.metric plugin
* MetricBase

{#acc-distributed-mid-cluster__ul_yqt_nsy_4kb}
To verify that the MetricBase plugin has been installed correctly:

1. Enter <kbd class="ph userinput">stats.do</kbd> in the instance navigation pane.
2. Search for the MetricBase Statistics section and verify that the following appears:
   * Status: ONLINE
   * Name: clotho
   {#acc-distributed-mid-cluster__ul_gqh_zqm_knb}
{#acc-distributed-mid-cluster__ol_jqw_nqm_knb}

Role required: agent_client_collector_admin

## Procedure
