Export source types to an update set separate from the Health Log Analytics data input configuration. You can then import the update
set to the target environment.

## Before you begin

For an overview of this feature, see [Migrating Health Log Analytics data input configurations between instances](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/h8zgh5ncl977JqJF4yCXKQ "Export a Health Log Analytics data input and source types configuration as an update set and import it to a different ServiceNow instance. In the target environment, you can use the migrated data input for streaming and processing log data. This functionality saves time and reduces possible errors by avoiding the need to configure the settings again on the target instance.").

Role required: evt_mgmt_admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllHealth Log AnalyticsData InputSource Types.
2. In the Source Types list, select one or more source types that you want to export.
3. From the Actions on selected rows drop-down menu, choose Export Source Types.
The source types are exported to an update set.
   Note:
An update set can act as the parent for multiple child update sets.
4. Select Download update set to download the update set to the instance.
The update set is downloaded as an XML file.

## What to do next

Import the update set to the required ServiceNow instance. For
more information, see [Import source types to a target instance](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/KOOtT4HZl8KR6COLbk8rqg "Import source types that you've exported separate from the Health Log Analytics data input configuration.").
