## Summary of Cloud Discovery schedules dashboard in Cloud Discovery Workspace

The Cloud Discovery schedules dashboard in the Cloud Discovery Workspace provides detailed insights into selected discovery runs within ServiceNow.
It enables users with thesncloudopsws.cloudopsadminrole to monitor and analyze recent cloud discovery activities, focusing on Configuration Items (CIs) and discovery performance.
Show full answer Show less

## Access

To access the dashboard, navigate to **Cloud Discovery Workspace \> Cloud Discovery \> Schedules**. This centralized view helps administrators track discovery schedules and outcomes efficiently.

## Key Features

* **Resource and CI Metrics:** View total CIs discovered, newly discovered CIs, and CIs absent from the previous discovery run, aiding in identifying changes in the cloud environment.
* **Error Tracking:** Monitor the count of discovery errors per run to quickly identify and troubleshoot issues.
* **Duration Monitoring:** Track the time taken for each discovery run to assess performance and optimize scheduling.
* **Reports:** Visual bar charts show resource counts and time taken across the last 10 discovery runs, sourced from *discoverycloudresults* and *discoverystatus* tables respectively.
* **Filtering and Sorting:** Use the schedules filter to narrow down discovery runs by cloud provider, schedule name, or both. Sort the filtered list alphabetically, by errors, or by discovery status (in progress or completed).

## Practical Use Cases

* Cloud operations administrators can review resource counts and identify newly discovered or missing CIs to maintain an accurate CMDB.
* Monitoring discovery errors helps troubleshoot and improve discovery reliability.
* Tracking discovery duration assists in performance tuning and scheduling decisions.

## Important Notes

* The indicators for "Newly discovered" and "Absent from last" are calculated only for pattern-based discoveries.
* The report drop-down list displays data from only the last 10 discovery runs for selection and visualization.
The Cloud Discovery schedules dashboard displays information about the
selected discovery run.

## Indicators {#cloud-operations-discovery-schedules-dashboard__section_zdx_q53_jsb}

Total Resources
: The indicator displays the total count of Configuration Items (CI) discovered during the
    selected discovery run.

Newly discovered
: The indicator displays the count of new CIs discovered during the selected discovery
    run.

Absent from last
: The indicator displays the count of CIs missing during the selected discovery run. That
is, CIs were discovered during the previous discovery run, but are missing during the
    selected discovery run.

Errors
: The indicator displays the count of discovery errors that occurred during the selected
    discovery run.

Duration
: The indicator displays the time taken to complete the selected discovery run.
Note:
Cloud Discovery calculates the Newly discovered and Absent from last indicators only for the pattern-based discoveries.
