## Key Features

* **AI-Suggested Application Fingerprints:** View and manage a list of AI-generated application suggestions with detailed fingerprints. You can modify discovery pattern names, CMDB classes, view process samples and related servers, ignore suggestions for future Discovery runs, or add suggestions as CIs. Note that the widget requires manual page refresh for the latest data.
* **Application CIs Discovered:** Monitor discovered application CIs based on fingerprints or ITOM Content Service suggestions. Visual reports include a pie chart of total user-defined application CIs and a bar chart of the top five recently created application CIs by class.
* **ITOM Content Service Integration:** This service collects unrecognized application fingerprints from various environments and uses AI librarians to generate and update classifiers weekly. It continuously enhances discovery by identifying relevant processes, filtering out irrelevant ones, and providing new application fingerprints and SNMP OIDs for CI creation. Content service suggestions can be refreshed manually or automatically on newer instances, ensuring up-to-date information.
* **Data Sharing and Privacy:** Participation in sharing application fingerprint data with ITOM Content Service is optional and anonymized to protect personal information. Sharing enables AI librarians to improve classifier accuracy and deliver new CIs weekly. Starting with specific versions, you can also opt to share Service Info data of mapped candidates.

## Prerequisites

To utilize ITOM Content Service and Content 360 features, ensure the following plugins are activated:

* Discovery
* Normalization
* Data Services

## Practical Benefits for ServiceNow Customers

* Streamlines application discovery with AI-driven suggestions, reducing manual efforts.
* Increases accuracy and breadth of discovered application CIs by leveraging crowd-sourced and AI-analyzed data.
* Provides actionable, real-time visibility into application footprints and discovered CIs through intuitive data visualizations.
* Ensures your CMDB stays current with the latest application fingerprints and classifiers, improving monitoring and operational insights.
* Offers flexible data sharing options that respect privacy while enhancing discovery capabilities.
The Content 360 page enables you to discover applications and evaluate application suggestions based on machine learning or crowd-sourced resources. Then, create configuration items with a single click.

Content 360 uses data visualizations to offer extensive visibility of your infrastructure's applications and the resources available to create application configuration items (CIs). It also provides access to a list of classifiers to
add to discovery. Refresh the page to view the most up-to-date visualizations.

## Key features {#discovery-workspace-content-360__section_bfh_4n3_tbc}

AI-suggested application fingerprints
:
    View a list of suggested applications with fingerprints that you can add to the discovery process through the AI-suggested application fingerprints feature. You can then select a group name to view extensive details about an application.

    * Modify certain details such as the discovery pattern name or suggested CMDB class.
    * View additional information about process samples and related servers.
    * Choose to ignore viewed suggestions the next time Discovery runs.
    * Add suggestions to the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) the next time Discovery runs.
    {#discovery-workspace-content-360__ul_mht_24j_d1c}

    The AI-suggested application fingerprints widget doesn't refresh automatically. To verify you're viewing the most up-to-date information, refresh the page manually.

    For more information about discovery based on application fingerprints, see [Discover applications based on fingerprints](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/UPVcMhpdHZwkg8e~0ykjpQ "Discover applications based on suggestions based on ServiceNow Predictive Intelligence. Predictive Intelligence automatically classifies and categorizes the discovered running processes, as application fingerprints, and provides suggestions. ITOM Visibility uses Predictive Intelligence to perform initial analysis of discovered processes and suggest applications that you might want to discover. When using this method, ITOM Visibility automatically creates a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) configuration item (CI) class, a classifier, or a pattern for the new application CI class.").

Application CIs discovered

: Monitor information about application CIs discovered based on application fingerprints or ITOM Content Service suggestions through the Discovery Admin Workspace. A pie report shows the total number of user-defined application CIs discovered. A bar report presents the top five application CIs discovered, created within the last two days, and
    grouped by class.

ITOM Content Service
:
    ITOM Content Service collects unrecognized application fingerprints from different environments. AI librarians analyze these fingerprints, creating dedicated classifiers that are updated and shipped to you weekly. The latest version of Discovery Admin Workspace enables you to refresh the content service suggestions manually before reviewing them. As new IT products are rapidly released to the market, this feature grants you rapidly updating visibility and provides the following benefits:

    * It reviews the products that you're currently using every week and delivers new application fingerprints.
    * It identifies irrelevant processes that aren't suitable candidates for CIs.
    * Based on AI, it helps you identify running processes fingerprints and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Object Identifiers (OIDs) and create the CIs you need for monitoring your infrastructure.
    * Discovers a higher number of products by using AI capabilities that cluster and classify running application processes.
    {#discovery-workspace-content-360__ul_t4h_btz_bcc}

    On the latest version of Discovery Admin Workspace, starting from Xanadu instances, the Content service suggestions widget refreshes automatically and displays the most up-to-date information. This is indicated by the real time icon (![Real time icon]()) that appears next to the widget name.

    To learn more about ITOM Content Service, see [ITOM Content Service](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/LwKcm7PY19zL6QvhdyKwCQ "ServiceNow ITOM Content Service offers extensive visibility of products in your infrastructure. The classification of processes identified by Predictive Intelligence enables wider discovery and weekly updates of new configuration items in the CMDB. Use the Discovery Admin Workspace to review and manage ITOM Content Service suggestions.").

: Sharing data on ITOM Content Service

    The Continuance Delivery System (CDS) is a ServiceNow® technology. It synchronizes data between the Data Services instance---which stores and distributes data---and customer instances, using only processes and SNMP OIDs data. Using the ITOM Content Service feature through the CDS, you can opt in to share application fingerprint process data. This data can be tagged and classified by AI librarians, enabling ITOM Content Service to deliver new CIs every week. Your data is shared with your ServiceNow® instance in a safe environment. No personal information is revealed, and all information is kept anonymous. Participation is optional and you can opt out at any time.

    Starting with ITOM Content Service version 1.6.2 and Discovery Admin Workspace version 1.11.0, you can also opt in to share Service Info data of mapped candidates

    For more information, see [Share data on ITOM Content Service](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/_586w_v7e_MhM3jAi~mGDw "Control data sharing by opting in or out of ITOM Content Service sharing options using the Discovery Admin Workspace.").
