# Track a change request

The system generates a change request when you perform a life cycle operation on a
stack or resource.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_cmp.cloud_service_user

## About this task

Each change request is either approved by default or, if an approval policy is in place, is approved by a user that is on the approver list.

## Procedure

1. Go to the Activities page or navigate to Cloud User PortalView Activities, then select TrackChange Requests.

   | Number | Unique auto-generated number. |
   | Configuration item | The affected CI. |
   | Category | Cloud Provisioning and Governance |
   | Short description | Text that was entered by the requester. |
   | Approval | Status. |
