Install Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM)

  • If you have the admin role, you can install the Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM) application. The Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM) application integrates generative AI capabilities into your daily workflow tasks.

    Before you begin

    Role required: admin

    Procedure

    1. Go to the ServiceNow Store.
    2. In the search bar, enter Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM) and then select Search.
    3. Select the Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM) widget and then select Get to make this application available for installation on your ServiceNow instance.
    4. On your ServiceNow instance, navigate to All > System Definitions > Plugins.
    5. Search for the Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM) application.
    6. Select Install.

    Result

    The agentic workflow and the AI agents included in the Now Assist for Software Asset Management (SAM) application are installed on your ServiceNow instance.

    What to do next

    1. Enable the Now Assist panel to access the AI agents. For details, see Activate the Now Assist panel standard chat.
    2. Activate the AI Search application on your ServiceNow instance enabling the AI agents to search and get related records.
      1. Navigate to All > AI Search > AI Search Status.
      2. Trigger the automatic AI Search activation process on your ServiceNow instance by selecting Request AI Search.
        Note:
        The activation process can take up to 24 hours.
