# Create a source

# Create a source for classification codes {#ariaid-title1}

Create a source that you can then assign to classification codes.

## Before you begin

A source is a system of classification for a particular industry. For more details on sources, see [Model classification](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/xrrtPYiWzYBi0ZPlqfjEjg "Use model classification to organize and categorize enterprise models and their associated assets in a structured, consistent way across the ServiceNow platform.").

Role required: sn_eam.enterprise_asset_manager

## Procedure

1. Navigate to Enterprise Asset WorkspaceAdmin center.
2. Select Sources under Model classifications and then select New.
3. On the Create New Enterprise model classification source page, enter a name of the source in the Source field.
4. Enter a description of the source in the Description field.
5. Select Save.  
   The source appears in the Create sources page.
