# Record time worked on a repair task automatically in the Enterprise Asset Workspace

# Record time worked on a repair task automatically in the Enterprise Asset Workspace {#ariaid-title1}

Record the time that you took to complete a repair task without taking any break until you completed the task.

## Before you begin

Role required: enterprise_asset_technician

## About this task

You can record the time worked for Troubleshoot asset, Repair asset, and Evaluate asset tasks that are in the Open state.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesEnterprise Asset WorkspaceInventory.
2. Select the Repair orders tab.
3. Select the repair order that you're working on.
4. Select the Repair order lines tab.
5. Select the repair order line that you're working on.
6. Select the Repair asset tasks tab.
7. Select the asset repair task for which you want to record the time worked.
8. Indicate that you started work on the task by selecting Start Work.  
   The Start Work option changes to Start Timer and Record Time automatically.
9. Select Start Timer.
10. After you have completed working on the task, on the Details form, select the task result.
    * If you have completed a Troubleshoot asset task, then select any of the following results in the Troubleshoot result field:
      * Repairable
      * Unrepairable
      * Redeployable

    * If you have completed a Repair asset task, then select any of the following results in the Repair result field:
      * Repaired
      * Unrepairable
      * Redeployable

    * If you have completed an Evaluate asset task, then select any of the following results in the Evaluation result field:
      * Redeployable
      * To be disposed

11. Enter notes related to the task in the Work notes field.
12. Select Close Task.

## Result

The actual time you worked on the task completion is automatically calculated. An entry for the time worked is created in the Time Worked tab of the asset repair task.
