## About this task

The Software Asset Management publisher pack for Microsoft supports cost-based licensing optimizations for Microsoft. These licensing optimizations enable you to determine the most cost-effective licensing solutions for your Microsoft software products across hybrid infrastructures.  
You can view in-depth details about your realized and potential licensing optimizations in the Microsoft Core License Optimization Reports \[samp_ms_optimization_report\] table. This table can help you

* gain insight into the licensing optimizations that have already been implemented across your Microsoft deployments,
* gain insight into the recommended licensing optimizations that can potentially bring you additional savings,
* better understand your Microsoft license consumption,
* determine the cost savings that you have achieved by using the Software Asset Management application to track and manage your Microsoft licenses,
* and download optimization reports that you can share with other users in your organization.

## Procedure

1. On the page header of your ServiceNow instance, select All.
2. In the menu navigation filter, enter <kbd class="ph userinput">samp_ms_optimization_report_list.do</kbd>.  
   The Microsoft Core License Optimization Reports \[samp_ms_optimization_report\] table opens.
3. View your realized and potential cost-based licensing optimizations for Microsoft.  
   The Microsoft Core License Optimization Reports \[samp_ms_optimization_report\] table provides detailed information about each realized and potential licensing optimization, including the recommended
   license type, the recommend license consumption layer, and the potential and realized cost savings.
