# Create success goals for Software Asset Management {#ariaid-title1}

Create success goals to track the success of the Software Asset Management
application in your instance.

## Before you begin

Role required: sam_admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesSoftware Asset WorkspaceSuccess Portal.
2. Select Create success goal.
3. On the form, fill in the details.  
   For a description of the field values, see [SAM Success Goal Details](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/cL2NG55TUAoXDTlg94knDg "Fields on the SAM Success Goal Details help you create success goals for tracking the success of the Software Asset Management application in your instance.").
4. Select Save.  
   The success goal appears in the [License operations view](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/f97mKB9sVuReYp71DCuFZA "Use the License operations view in Software Asset Workspace to manage software asset operations. These operations include management of licenses, contracts, discovery, client access, resource value, user subscriptions, content suggestions, software asset success, cloud cost simulation, SAM implementation, IBM ASP, IBM ILMT V2 integrations, and engineering apps integrations.") under the Success goals list. You can cancel or delete a success goal from the License operations view.
