Create an integration with Microsoft 365 to download subscription
information that is compared with software installations for compliance.

## Microsoft 365 products and services {#microsoft-o365__section_slp_lw1_tcc}

Microsoft 365 is a suite of software products that includes a range of subscription software and services such as Microsoft Office 365, Windows, and Enterprise Mobility and Security (EMS). Microsoft 365 and EMS include many other products and services within them.
Some of these products can be installed on a computer, while others are online services accessible via the internet.
Note:
Microsoft allows users to install Microsoft 365 products on multiple devices, although users can only sign in on a maximum of five devices at one time. For more information, see [How sign in works in Microsoft 365](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-sign-in-works-in-microsoft-365-1d646e83-1585-4278-8daf-d4a2cc0905e0).

Microsoft 365 admin center includes many other products that you can purchase and activate. However, some of these products don't come with the Microsoft 365 subscription, such as Dynamics 365.
The following are some of the products and services that are available with the Microsoft 365 subscription:

* Microsoft 365
* Microsoft Exchange Online
* Enterprise Mobility Suite
* Microsoft Office 365
* Microsoft SharePoint Online
* Microsoft Entra ID
* Microsoft Power BI
* Microsoft OneDrive
* Microsoft Teams
* Windows
* Microsoft Intune

{#microsoft-o365__ul_gxk_x2m_cbc}
Important:
This list doesn't include all the products and services available with a Microsoft 365 subscription.

## Microsoft 365 subscription plans {#microsoft-o365__section_idm_qfx_wcc}

Microsoft 365 offers various subscription plans, each providing access to different products and services. For instance, Power BI is included in the Office 365 E5 plan but not in the Office 365
E3 plan. To understand more about Microsoft 365 Enterprise subscription, see [Microosft 365 plans and pricing.](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/microsoft365-plans-and-pricing). To understand more about all products and services per subscription plan, see [Microsoft 365 licensing](https://m365maps.com/).

## Benefits of Microsoft 365 integration {#microsoft-o365__section_sgs_kw1_5jb}

SAM managers can perform the following actions:

* Get user subscription information for all the Microsoft 365 plans purchased on the Microsoft 365 admin center, such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft 365.
* Determine license compliance of Microsoft 365 subscriptions by reconciling user subscription, entitlement, and software installations.
* View active, inactive, and unassigned subscriptions by their last activity date.
* Get user activity for individual Microsoft Office 365 software products within Microsoft 365 subscriptions. For more information, see [Evaluating software usage activity for Microsoft 365 subscriptions](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/GarLSJy~bZd0gzaePv4SOg "Evaluating software usage activity helps you discover active, inactive, and unassigned subscriptions among all subscriptions found on the Microsoft 365 portal.").
* Get user activity with device-specific activation count details from the Microsoft 365 admin portal that helps in identifying users who have activated their Microsoft subscriptions on at least one device. The activation count also helps SAM managers accurately determine the total number of activations across both desktops and devices.
* Receive automated optimization recommendations and workflows for your Microsoft 365 subscriptions. These optimizations include suggestions for downgrading plans, addressing low usage, identifying overlapping licenses, and consolidating subscriptions.
* Determine potential savings while acting on the recommendation.
* Reduce costs and administrative efforts by automatically removing licenses that have low usage or are part of overlapping subscriptions.
