Summary of Understand the Content Operations dashboard
The Content Operations dashboard serves as a centralized launchpad for content authors with the Content Manager role, enabling them to create content, track engagement metrics, manage publishing schedules, handle content requests, and review ownership of pages and widgets. Access is available via Content Publishing, Content Experiences, or Content Governance modules.
To enable the dashboard, administrators must install the following plugins (August 2024 store release or later): Content Publishing, Content Governance, and optionally Content Experiences.
My Content
This tab provides metrics on content you have created, with variations depending on installed plugins. Key cards include:
- My Content: Lists all your created content.
- Content Library and Campaigns: Shows status of scheduled content and campaigns, including content to be published, content expiring within 7 days, campaign content to be published, and campaign content expiring within 7 days.
- Content Requests: Displays incoming requests with statuses such as unassigned, due within 7 days, in progress, in review, and ready to publish.
Administrators can customize the timeframes for expiring content and content requests via Content Governance properties.
Publishing Calendar
The calendar offers a unified view of scheduled content publication, upcoming campaigns, and content request due dates. Filters allow narrowing by:
- View type: Content requests, Content Library, Campaign Content (requires Content Experiences plugin).
- Channel type: Differentiates content by delivery channel such as mobile content, news, notifications, portal content, and to-do content.
- Page or Widget: Filters content by specific portal pages or widget instances.
Note that only content with configured start dates appears on the calendar; content marked as "Always active" does not.
Ownership
The ownership tab provides visibility into content, pages, topics, and audiences you own or have permissions for. Filters allow viewing by specific groups (e.g., Content admin, Content manager) or individual users with these roles. This helps manage accountability and content governance effectively.
