Configure Tag Governance policies to run an audit

  • Configure tag policies so that you can run audits on your discovered configuration items (CIs) that have tag data. You can then view the audit results in the Tag Health dashboard to see the tag quality and compliance information about your tags.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_itom_tag.tag_governance_admin, admin.

    About this task

    Fill out the Tag Policy form to configure policies that run on discovered cloud resources or CIs to audit their tag compliance and health. You can specify conditions, such as service accounts and DATACENTER, to narrow the scope of the resources that this policy audits.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Tag Governance > Policies.
    2. Click New.
    3. Fill in fields on the Tag Policies form.
      For details on the form fields, see the table Tag Policies form.
    4. Click Submit.
    5. Optional: If you have selected On Demand in the Run field, click Run Audit.
      Note:
      If you have selected any other option in the Run field, the tag audit policy runs at the schedule or frequency that you have configured.
      • The Tag Policy Runs related list, displays the list of policy runs with their corresponding State and, Created and Updated timestamps.
      • The Latest Policy Run Findings related list, displays the results from running the tag policy that you configured.

    What to do next

    • Click the Show Audit Results related link to view all the audit results for this audit policy.
    • Click the Run Point Scan related link to execute all applicable checks against the record.
