  • Install the ITOM plugin in the ServiceNow® Now Assist feature.

    About this task

    Installing the ITOM plugin enables Event Management users to view alert analyses that Now Assist creates using generative AI.

    Procedure

    1. Go to the ServiceNow Store website.
    2. In the search bar, enter Now Assist for ITOM and then select Search.
    3. Select the Now Assist for ITOM widget and then select Get to make this application available for installation on your instance(s).
    4. On your instance, navigate to All > System Definition > Plugins.
    5. Install the Now Assist Admin Console application.
      1. Search for Now Assist Admin Console.
        The minimum required version is 2.1.1.
      2. Select Install.
    6. Install the Now Assist for ITOM application.
      1. Navigate to All > System Definition > Plugins.
      2. Search for Now Assist for IT Operations Management (ITOM).
      3. Select Install.
    7. Only on Washington DC Patch 3 and later: Install the Glide Virtual Agent plugin.
      1. Navigate to All > System Definition > Plugins.
      2. Search for Glide Virtual Agent (com.glide.cs.chatbot).
      3. Select Install.
    8. In the Now Assist skills for Technology features, activate the Alert Analysis skill.
      1. Navigate to All > Now Assist Admin > Features.
      2. Select Technology.
      3. On the Now Assist skills for Technology page, select ITOM from the product drop-down list.
      4. Select View details.
      5. Find the Alert Analysis skill and select Turn on to activate it.
    9. Only on Washington DC Patch 3 and later: Enable the AI Search application on your instance.
      1. Navigate to All > AI Search > AI Search Status.
      2. Trigger the automatic AI Search activation process on your instance by selecting Request AI Search.
        Note:
        Enabling AI Search on your instance may take up to 24 hours.
