Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack
Summarize
Summary of Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack
The Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application is an optional plugin for Cloud Cost Management version 8.1 and later, available through the ServiceNow Store. Once activated, this plugin cannot be deactivated and works alongside the Glide Fenix (com.glide.fenix) plugin. It includes provider-specific credential aliases for AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, which must be mapped to corresponding credentials for successful billing downloads.

Key Features
- Improved Data Download Speed: Enhances the speed of downloading billing files, facilitating quicker data processing and analysis.
- Support for High Transaction Volumes: Efficiently manages large-scale cloud environments with high transaction loads.
- Enhanced Performance with Kubernetes: Utilizes a Kubernetes cluster for rapid billing data processing and effective management of complex cloud infrastructures.
- Better Cloud Cost Management: Provides real-time insights and faster processing, enabling informed decision-making regarding cloud costs.
Key Outcomes
To successfully process billing jobs, ensure that all cloud provider-specific credentials are mapped to their respective credential aliases. For existing jobs upon upgrading to Xanadu (Cloud Cost Management version 10.0), this mapping is done automatically; however, new jobs require manual mapping. Additionally, maintain sufficient storage in your Cloud Cost Management Glide database for temporary AWS billing job attachments, which are deleted post-processing. These steps are crucial for optimizing cloud cost management and enhancing operational efficiency.
Use the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application to process and download billing files with improved data download speed. The Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application also supports high transaction volumes.
Overview of the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application
The Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application is an optional plugin that can be installed alongside Cloud Cost Management version 8.1 and later from the ServiceNow Store. Installing this plugin also activates the Glide Fenix (com.glide.fenix) plugin.
| Provider | Credential alias |
|---|---|

Requirements for processing billing jobs using the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application
The framework of the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application enables parallel processing of billing files, resulting in faster download of large files. The application processes billing jobs using a Kubernetes cluster that's outside Cloud Cost Management Glide but within ServiceNow datacenters. By using this framework, the application achieves faster and more efficient billing data processing.

Map all the provider-specific credentials of your billing download jobs to the corresponding credential alias. For example, if you have two AWS credentials, map them to ccm_aws_alias so that the billing download job completes successfully. For more details on mapping credentials to aliases, see Credential aliases for Discovery.
Note:If you’re upgrading from previous releases to Xanadu (Cloud Cost Management version 10.0) and have installed the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application, the mapping of credentials to alias happens automatically for all active billing download jobs. However, for any new job, you should do the mapping manually. - Make sure to have enough storage on your Cloud Cost Management Glide database for storing the attachments of the AWS billing job with Assume role authentication temporarily until the billing download job is processed. After the job is complete, these temporary attachments are deleted from the Glide database. The storage that you should have depends on the size of data on AWS. For more details, see Processing AWS billing jobs with Assume role authentication.
