Edit and view a multi-building scenario in Stack plan
The Stack plan component tab in a scenario helps in optimum space planning. Add, update, or remove allocations for a scenario. Update the changes in production after publishing and deploying your scenario.
Before you begin
View KPIs in terms of space count, total capacity and capacity ratio for a building, floor, or a space. Move spaces temporarily to the Clipboard while you’re planning for a scenario. Move a floor or bar from a building to another and make new space allocations.
Role required: sn_wsd_spcmgmt.space_planner, sn_wsd_spcmgmt.scenario_reader (read-only; to view a scenario)
Procedure
- Navigate to All > Scenario Planning > My Scenario Plans.

Select and open a multi-building scenario.

By default, the scenario opens in the scenario mode in the Stack plan tab. The scenario mode is the working mode in which you can group by or allocate spaces by department, cost center, neighborhood, or a workplace entity. The Stack plan tab displays multiple buildings, floors, and space allocations within a scenario.

Select and open the vertically stacked list of buildings within the collapsed Accordion panel icon (
).
The accordions can be collapsed and expanded to show or hide the floors within a building. By default, the accordion for the last building is in an open state and shows all the floors within a building.- Select a building to see the floors within a building. Selected building shows highlighted borders.
- Select a floor on the Stack plan to view spaces or bar allocations. Selected floor shows highlighted borders.
- Select a bar (space) to view the number of spaces allocated. Selected bar or space shows highlighted borders.
- Move a space from a floor to an unallocated space or bar in another floor or building.

Drag a space (bar) from a floor and add it to another floor or to another building in the Stack plan.
Dragging and adding a floor or space to another building opens the collapsed accordion panel for a building to show the floors within a building. Place the bar appropriately on a floor of a building as required.

Move and park a department, cost center, workplace entity temporarily on the Clipboard while you plan for real-estate space allocation changes.
- Select the space or bar that you want to move temporarily.
- Drag the space or bar to temporarily park it to the Clipboard.The moved bar is placed in the clipboard temporarily until you plan to move it to another floor or building.Note:Don't move a space with a higher capacity to another with a lesser capacity. For example, if you try to move a floor or space that has 51 allocated spaces to another bar with 21 unallocated spaces, a message is displayed, "The floor can’t accommodate this bar."
- Hover on a temporarily moved bar in the Clipboard and view details for a parked space.

View or edit a scenario using the View options in the Space Details panel.

View scenario Option to view a scenario and the KPIs for a selected building or floor. View the space count, total number of seats, total unallocated spaces, total workplace profiles assigned to a space, ratio of profiles assigned to total capacity and so on. View scenario using the different View by option (Department, Cost center, Neighborhood and so on). Select any one option from the list. -
Select Edit Scenario to plan and update your scenario for optimum space allocations.
Table 2. Edit scenario Field Description Floor, Building, or bar Select a building, floor, or bar (space) on the Stack plan to edit and update changes for a scenario. Assignment Assignment details are only displayed when you select a bar on the stack plan. If you select the entire floor, the assignment details aren’t displayed. You can view the following details in the Assignment section: - Profiles assigned. Number of workplace profiles that are assigned to the neighborhood scenario.
- Assignment ratio of users to spaces
- Unassigned spaces available in a neighborhood.
Department Note:The option on this field depends on your scenario allocation type (Department, cost center, neighborhood, or workplace entity)Total space allocation for a business unit or units within a department or allocation type (cost center, neighborhood, or workplace entity). For example, a department can have different business units (knowledge management, configuration management, Incident management, change management, and so on).
Increase or decrease space count and Change assignment for a floor or building. Increase or decrease the number of space allocations on a floor and change the floor and building assignment.
- Select a bar or space in a floor.
- Space count: Option to add or update the space value count.
For example, if you want to reduce 10 space allocations from a space or bar that has total allocations of 50. Enter 40. Select Apply.
- Assign to building: Option to change the building allocation. Select a building or clipboard and select Apply
- Assign to floor: Option to change floor. Select a floor and select Apply.

Select Save to save the allocation changes.
Note:Your updates or changes to a scenario is lost when they aren’t saved. The option to view a using the View scenario button is enabled only after saving your changes.

Select View scenario.

Assignment Assignment details are only displayed when you select a bar on the stack plan. If you select the entire floor, the assignment details aren’t shown. You can view the following details in the Assignment section: - Profiles assigned. Number of workplace profiles that are assigned to the neighborhood scenario.
- Assignment ratio of users to spaces
- Unassigned spaces available in a neighborhood.
Building, floor, or a space (bar). Option to view the total number of seats, ratio of profiles assigned to total capacity, total number of unassigned spaces (assigned as permanent or none) for a building, Note:Select a building, floor, or bar (space) on the Stack plan to view the space allocation details. Based on your selection, the KPIs for selected items are shown.Department Note:The option on this field depends on your scenario allocation type (Department, cost center, neighborhood, or workplace entity)Total space allocation for a business unit or units within a department or allocation type (cost-center, neighborhood, or workplace entity). Zoom in and view the scenario in a Stack plan.
Use the Zoom in or zoom out options.

Press Shift to select a space using the keyboard.
Press Shift and Tab to bring to focus items on the Stack plan component. Use the Tab key to move around and select items on the Stack plan, for example, Zoom buttons. To shift your focus back to the previous element in the Stack Plan container, use the Shift and Tab keys. Press the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard to move around the Stack plan user interface. Select a floor, building, or space to edit or view the space count, capacity, or allocation ratio. Use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate bars in a floor. Press the Enter key to select a focused bar or space and hit the Spacebar key to view additional information in the pop-up box or popover that opens.

- Select Save to update the allocation changes.
