  • The new search functionality on the topic pages provides different filters, sorting options, to make searching data easier on Employee Center.

    The search functionality on the topic pages provides results for the Service Catalog items, the Knowledge Base, and the learning content.
    • It is available with the AI search functionality.
    • It provides spell-checks, synonym detections, suggestions based on the keywords you're typing.
    • The filter option remains the same. The sort option changes to allow easier content discovery with the search.
    • The reset option clears out all the filter and sort options previously selected.
    • The default number of results for a search on the topic pages and on the Unified Browse widget is 12 at a time.

    Note:
    You must have the Employee Center 28.0.4 installed along with Utah for the search on the topic pages feature to function.

    Configure search on the topic pages

    Configure the search output on the topic pages that is appropriate for your organizational requirements.

    Role required: esc_admin

    About this task

    • Search content on the topic pages.
    • Support for Knowledge Base article, Learning content, and Service Catalog item content types are available with the feature.
    • Change the default number of results displayed according to your organizational requirements.
    • Note:
      The instance option for the search on the topic pages feature is visible if you install or upgrade to Employee Center 28.0.4. But the feature is only functional when you have upgraded or installed Utah along with the Employee Center 28.0.4.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > AI Search > Search Applications > ESC Portal Default Search Application.
    2. Change the Search Results Limit to your desired number from the base system value 12.
