Edit and view a multi-building scenario on a floor map
Edit and change a multi-building scenario using the floor map tab.
Before you begin
Role required: sn_wsd_spcmgmt.space_planner, sn_wsd_spcmgmt.scenario_reader (read-only; to view a scenario)
Procedure
- Navigate to All > Scenario Planning > My Scenario Plans.

Select and open the scenario with multiple buildings.
For more information about the multi-building scenario, see Create a multi-building scenario.
- Select a multi-building scenario and select the Floor map tab.
- Optional:
Select a Building and Floor.
By default, the selection of a building and floor on the Stack plan is preserved and displayed on the floor map.
If the floor map displays two buildings (Building A and Building B) adjacent to each other, scroll over to switch from one building to another (Building A to Building B). The Building list shows the switched over building name. For example, Building B.

View or edit a scenario using the Space Details panel.

Plan and update your scenario for optimum space allocations and assignment using Edit Scenario.
Table 2. Edit scenario Field Floor/Building Select a building, floor, or bar (space) on the floor map. Assignment Assignment details are only displayed when you select a bar on the stack plan. If you select the entire floor, the assignment details aren’t displayed. You can view the following details in the Assignment section: - Profiles assigned. Number of workplace profiles that are assigned to the neighborhood scenario.
- Assignment ratio of users to spaces
- Unassigned spaces available in a neighborhood.
Department Note:The option on this field depends on your scenario allocation type (Department, cost center, neighborhood, or workplace entity)Total space allocation for a business unit or units within a department or allocation type (cost center, neighborhood, or workplace entity). For example, a department can different business units (knowledge management, configuration management, Incident management, change management, and so on).
- Select a space on the floor map and view space count, capacity ratio, total capacity, and assignment details.

Change, remove, or add an allocation for a selected space on the floor map.
- Select a space on the floor map.
- Select Edit scenario.
- From Actions, select Allocation.
- In the Allocation field, select any one of the following options:
- Change allocation: Select this option to change the allocation.
- Add allocation: Select this option to add an allocation.
- Remove allocation: Select this option to remove allocation.
- Change allocation: Select this option to change the allocation.
- In the Allocation type field, select the allocations you want to make.Note:This field appears only if you select either Change allocation or Add allocation. The name of the field depends on the selection that you made in the Group by field while creating the scenario.
- Select a department, cost center, or neighborhood for which you want to change the Allocation.
- Select Apply.
The allocations are changed.

Change the assignment of a space from permanent to flexible or remove the assignment.
- Select a space for which you want to change the assignment type (permanent, flexible, or none).
- In the Edit scenario panel, select Actions.
- In the Assignment type field, select the type of assignment that you want to make.
- Select Apply.
The assignment type is changed.

Assign a user to a space.
- Select a space on the floor map.Note:You can select only a single space to assign a user.
- Select Edit scenario and select Actions.
- Select User assignment to add workplace users.
- In the User assignment field, select the user that you want to assign.
You can add multiple workplace user assignments.
- Select Apply.
- Select a space on the floor map.

Remove a user assigned to a space.
- Select the space.Note:You can select only a single space to remove a user.
- In the Edit scenario panel, scroll down to the Assignment section.
A list of users who are assigned to the space is displayed.
- Remove a user by selecting the removed assignment icon (
).
The user is removed.
- Select the space.

Select View scenario.

Assignment Assignment details are only displayed when you select a bar on the stack plan. If you select the entire floor, the assignment details aren’t displayed. You can view the following details in the Assignment section: - Profiles assigned. Number of workplace profiles that are assigned to the neighborhood scenario.
- Assignment ratio of users to spaces
- Unassigned spaces available in a neighborhood.
Floor/Building/Bar (Space) Option to view the total number of seats, ratio of profiles assigned to total capacity, total number of unassigned spaces (assigned as permanent or none) for a building, Note:Select a building, floor, or bar (space) on the Stack plan to view the space allocation details. Based on your selection, the KPIs for selected items are shown.Department Note:The option on this field depends on your scenario allocation type (Department, cost-center, neighborhood, or workplace entity)Total space allocation for a business unit or units within a department or allocation type (cost-center, neighborhood, or workplace entity). -
Adjust the display of user assignment and assignment type on the map.
- Select the Map settings icon (
).
- Based on the changes that you want to make, enable, or disable any of the following options:
- Assigned to: Option to display the number of users assigned to a space.
- Assignment type: Option to display the type of assignment, that is, flexible or permanent.
- Select the Map settings icon (

Zoom in the map using the zoom options (
) on the map.

Press Shift to select a space using the keyboard.
For Lasso selection, hold the Shift key to select multiple spaces at a time. Lasso selection can be done only for a building and a floor at a time. Multiple buildings or floors can’t be selected.

The floor map shows the following legend:
- Flexible
- Permanent
- Unassigned
- Assigned to an employee
- None
- Select Save to update your allocation changes on the floor map for a selected floor.
