Align and distribute shapes in a modeling diagram
Organize shapes on the diagram canvas by aligning them to a common edge or center, or by distributing them at equal spacing.
Before you begin
You must have Owner or Editor access to the diagram.

About this task
When working with multiple shapes on the diagram canvas, you can use the alignment and distribution options to arrange them. Select two or more shapes to enable the alignment toolbar options. Select three or more shapes to enable the distribute options.
Note:
You can't align or distribute shapes in a business capability map diagram.
Procedure

Open the Modeling page by selecting the Modeling icon (
).

To access additional alignment options, select the More alignment options menu (
) in the toolbar, and then select one of the following options:
- Align top: Aligns the top edges of all selected shapes.
- Align center vertically: Aligns the vertical centers of all selected shapes.
- Align bottom: Aligns the bottom edges of all selected shapes.
- Optional:
To distribute three or more shapes at equal spacing, select the shapes and then select one of the following options from the More options menu:
- Distribute horizontally: Spaces the selected shapes at equal horizontal intervals. The leftmost and rightmost shapes act as fixed reference points, and the shapes in between are evenly spaced.
- Distribute vertically: Spaces the selected shapes at equal vertical intervals. The topmost and bottommost shapes act as fixed reference points, and the shapes in between are evenly spaced.
Note:The distribute options require a minimum of three shapes to be selected.
