  • Authorize the pre-published apps to enable ServiceNow to make API calls to Microsoft to enable each of the ServiceNow for Teams application workflows.

    Before you begin

Install Virtual Agent Lite or Virtual Agent. For more information see Virtual Agent integration with messaging apps.

To connect your ServiceNow instance to your Microsoft 365 tenant and to authorize apps, you must have both the external_app_install_admin role and the Global Administrator role in Microsoft 365. For information about the related Microsoft roles, see Azure AD built-in roles.

Role required: External admin (external_app_install_admin). This role is installed on the base system as part of the installation of the Channel Proxy plugin.

    About this task

The ServiceNow for Teams pre-published apps are:
    • Notify Connector: Install Notify Connector for Microsoft Teams to enable the chat to call feature. For more information, see Notify connector for Microsoft Teams.
    • Request-based Chats
    • SSO and Activity Notifications

    Procedure

      Install apps on ServiceNow instance.

    2. Click Authorize for Notify Connector.
    3. Provide the admin consent by selecting Accept.
      Note:
Additional permissions such as 'Manage Teams apps for all chats' and 'Allow the Teams app to manage all tabs for all chats' are required to create an app for meeting extensibility, and to create a new tab for a major incident meeting from the major incident workbench in Microsoft Teams.

      Admin consent for the app.

Upon successful authorization, the app is shown as Installed.

      Notify connector app is installed.
