Summary of Digital Portfolio Management life-cycle management
The Digital Portfolio Management (DPM) Workspace in ServiceNow supports managing solutions through the plan-build-run life-cycle model. It enables solution owners to manage their services, applications, or products while viewing related impacts on other services or products. DPM consolidates data from various ServiceNow products into a centralized workspace, providing visibility and actionable insights across the entire life cycle.

To utilize DPM fully, installation of relevant plugins and assignment of roles is required. The life-cycle phases and records are fully configurable to align with your organization's workflows, with administrative controls for customization.
Life-cycle Phases and Key Features
- Plan: Plan your solutions by viewing roadmaps, dependencies, backlogs, ideas, demands, projects, and improvement initiatives. Prioritize and promote ideas, and gain strategic planning visibility.
- Build: Track work progress including epics and stories within current sprints. Monitor projects with percent complete metrics, overdue statuses, milestones, and critical issues. Assess team delivery performance and manage changes and improvement initiatives with visual status indicators and backlog trends.
- Run: Monitor operational KPIs and solution performance using Performance Analytics indicators. View availability, incident counts, customer satisfaction scores, and subscriber details. Receive alerts on ongoing impacts and assess business application deployments, technology risks, and risk remediation tasks through Governance, Risk, and Compliance data integration.
DevOps Integration
DPM integrates with DevOps to provide flow and accelerate metrics that help manage scrum and waterfall development methodologies, offering visibility into software development life cycles. Admins must enable the DevOps system property to access these metrics within DPM.
Configuration and Customization
Administrators can configure the DPM experience and adapt UI components to fit specific organizational processes. This flexibility ensures that the life-cycle management phases and data presentation align with how teams work.
