Key Features
- Imports API data into a consistent, normalized model for seamless integration with other technologies.
- Provides a centralized interface via the API Insights workspace to analyze and interact with API data without needing direct access to Boomi Cloud API Management.
- Supports ServiceNow versions Yokohama, Zurich, and Australia.
Use Cases
- Maintain an end-to-end inventory of exposed and backend APIs to track publication, usage, and ownership.
- Trace APIs from customer-facing endpoints to backend services, identify impacted endpoints during service disruptions, and create related incidents.
- Manage vulnerabilities and security incidents related to API endpoints and implement compliance requirements.
Configuring the Connector
Configuration is performed through the SGC Central view in the CMDB Workspace, which supports discovering, installing, and managing the connector lifecycle including creation, editing, monitoring, and debugging of connections.
Periodic data synchronization can be scheduled to pull updated API information from Boomi Cloud API Management into ServiceNow.
Data Mapping and Integration
Data from Boomi Cloud API Management is transformed and mapped into CMDB Configuration Item (CI) classes using the Robust Transform Engine (RTE), and inserted via the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
Key data sources include API Components and API Consumers, stored in specific staging tables before being mapped to target CMDB and non-CMDB classes.
ServiceNow customers can utilize the IntegrationHub ETL application to view and manage data mappings, ensuring accurate and efficient data integration.

Use cases
- Maintain an end-to-end inventory of exposed and backend APIs, identifying what APIs are published, used, and by whom.
- Track APIs from customer-facing endpoints to the underlying services, identifying impacted endpoints when services change or fail and creating incidents for reported issues.
- Address vulnerabilities and security incidents related to API endpoints and create compliance requirements to measure against.
Configuring a connection for the connector
You can configure a connection for the connector by using the SGC Central view in the CMDB Workspace. The SGC Central view enables you to discover and install connectors, and then effectively manage the full life cycle of creating, editing, monitoring, and debugging connections. To configure the connector using SGC Central, see Configure API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management using SGC Central.
Data mapping
Data from the Boomi Cloud API Management data sources is mapped and transformed into the CMDB Configuration Item (CI) class definitions using the Robust Transform Engine (RTE). Data is inserted into the CMDB using the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
When you complete setting up the connection, you can configure the integration to periodically pull data from a Boomi Cloud API Management application.
