States and Associated UI Actions
- Draft: Initiate a new BIA by selecting New in the Business Impact Analysis list or Create BIA on the Home page. In this state, you can enter details on the Details tab and complete assessments on the Assessments tab.
- In review: Submit the BIA for review by selecting Submit for review, moving the state to In review.
- Pending approval: Submit the BIA for approval by selecting Submit for approval, transitioning the state to Pending approval.
- Approved: Approve the BIA by selecting Approve. The record becomes read-only, allowing viewing only of key assessments such as Recovery Point Objective, Recovery Time Objective, and Dependency assessments.
- Archived: Archive the BIA by selecting Archive. Starting with BCM 9.0.x, you can revert an archived BIA back to Draft by selecting Edit. Weekly scheduled jobs also automatically archive expired BIAs.
- Returned: If a BIA is rejected via the Reject action, it moves to Returned state where it can be edited and resubmitted for review.
Additional UI Actions
- Generate PDF: Create a PDF version of the BIA for offline reference; the PDF is attached in the Activity panel on the Details tab.
- Copy: Save a copy of the BIA PDF as a template for future use.
- 360º view: Visualize a comprehensive 360º representation showing the BIA’s name, template, dependencies, and results.
- Delete: Remove the BIA if it is no longer needed.
- Edit and Save: Modify and save changes to the BIA within the application.
