Connecting CWM with Strategic Planning

    • Configure Strategic Planning to include CWM Boards so that you can plan, roadmap, and associate goals to Boards in a portfolio plan.

    By adding CWM Boards to a lens configuration, you can access them in the Prioritization, Roadmap, and Goals pages of a portfolio plan as planning items.

    Note:
    This functionality requires installing the Strategic Planning application from ServiceNow Store.
    Include Boards in lens configuration

    For the lens that you want to use to build portfolio plans in Strategic Planning Workspace, update the configuration to include CWM Board as a planning item.

    The Organization, Project Portfolio, and Strategic Investments lenses support CWM Board as a planning item. To learn how to update the lens configuration, see Create or modify a lens in Strategic Planning.

    Prioritize and roadmap Boards in portfolio plans

    Prioritize and roadmap CWM Boards in the portfolio plan in the form of planning items. If the dates of your CWM Board match with the portfolio plan, you can visualize the scheduling for the Board on the roadmap and also track its progress.

    You can associate a Board to a Strategic Initiative or Department, to determine the portfolio plan that the Board gets added to.

    Add Boards to Goals in a portfolio plan

    Add Boards as a planning item to a goal in the portfolio plan. You can organize and monitor the progress of all activities and tasks that contribute to this goal directly from the CWM workspace. For more information, see Managing goals in Strategic Planning.
