Create specification characteristics

    • Define characteristics for a product, service, or resource specification.

    Before you begin

    Create product characteristics and characteristic options that can be selected for a specification.

    Role required: sn_prd_pm_product_catalog_admin

    Procedure

    1. In the CSM Configurable Workspace, select the List view.
    2. Navigate to Specifications and select the specification for which characteristics are to be defined.
    3. In the Specification Characteristics tab, select New.
    4. In the form, fill in the fields.

      Field Description
      Characteristic Characteristic for the specification. Select the characteristic.
      Characteristic option Characteristic option for the product offering. Select a characteristic option.
      Order Numerical order for the options. Options designated with the number 1 appear first in the order.
      Specification Name of the specification that you selected.
      Mandatory Option indicating that the characteristic option is required to complete the order.
      Default Option indicating this characteristic option is the default choice.
    5. Select Save.
