Business Continuity Management lite operators
Summarize
Summary of Business Continuity Management Lite Operators
The Business Continuity Management (BCM) application offers flexible licensing for lite operators, allowing them to engage in specific tasks related to business impact analyses (BIA) and approvals. Lite operators can respond to BIAs and approve records, provided they have the appropriate roles assigned and are added as contributors or approvers to relevant tasks.

Key Features
- Lite Operator Role: The BCM lite operator role includes several specific roles that allow users to contribute to BIAs, view plans, and respond to recovery tasks.
- Role Assignments: Operators must not be assigned roles that classify them beyond lite operators to maintain flexible licensing. Key roles that cannot be assigned include administrative and managerial roles within BIA and BCP.
- Activities and Limitations: Lite operators can create, read, update, and approve various BCM-related items, including BIAs, continuity plans, and crisis events, but are restricted from creating new records or assigning roles.
Key Outcomes
By utilizing the BCM lite operator capabilities, ServiceNow customers can efficiently manage and respond to business continuity tasks while maintaining compliance with licensing terms. This structure enables organizations to streamline their BCM processes and ensure effective participation in disaster recovery planning and execution.
The Business Continuity Management application provides flexible user licensing terms. The terms are based on whether your operator has read-only access or can complete certain types of tasks.
Overview of the lite operator classification
- Respond to the business impact analysis (BIA) plans when they are added as the contributors to the business impact analysis.
- Approve the assigned approval record from the record in the Lists view or My tasks page.
To enable lite operators to respond to tasks, you must assign them with the appropriate role for the activity and add them to the record as an approver. When this criteria is met, the lite operator can approve or reject a record and provide workflow notes.
