Set up the RSS feeds

  • Set up the RSS feeds data in the Regulatory Change Management application installed in your instance. Install the RSS feeds plugin for activating RSS feeds data in the Regulatory Change Management application.

    Before you begin

    Prerequisite for activating the GRC: Regulatory Change Management integration with RSS Feeds plugin: The Regulatory Change Management application should be installed first in your instance.

    About this task

    RSS (RDF Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) feeds are Web feeds that allow users and applications to access updates to websites in a standardized and computer-readable format. Websites use RSS feeds to publish frequently updated information, such as blog entries, news headlines, and episodes of audio and video series.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Application > Regulatory Change Management > RSS Feeds to fetch RSS feeds data in the Regulatory Change Management application.
    2. Download and install the GRC: Regulatory Change Management integration with RSS Feeds plugin from the store.
      Once the GRC: Regulatory Change Management integration with RSS Feeds plugin is installed, the RSS Feeds module is displayed under the Regulatory Change Management application module in the UI. The following submodules are displayed under RSS Feeds.

      Field Description
      Feed Setup Module to set up the flow to pull the RSS feeds.
      Connection & Credential Aliases Alias to configure the URL from where you get the specific RSS data.
      Provider Taxonomy Configuration Module to set up the provider taxonomy configuration.
      Feed Sources New feed source record.
      Feed Request Response Module that contains the responses from the RSS feeds sources.
    3. From the Feed Setup module, complete the following steps.
      1. Select the Pull RSS Feed to Regulatory Change in the Flow Designer UI page.
      2. Select Test and then Activate to activate the flow.
      The RCM IT Admin schedules the Pull RSS Feed to Regulatory Change flow to run on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and sets up the time for the flow.
    4. Select the Connection & Credential Aliases module and select Create New Connection & Credential under Related Links.
    5. Enter the connection information in the Create Connection and Credential record form as outlined in the table and select Create.

      Field Description
      Name Connection name in the text format, for example, Federal Reserve, FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
      Connection URL Connection URL from where the feeds are fetched, for example, https://www.rbi.org.in/pressreleases_rss.xml
      A new connection is created and listed under the Connection & Credential Aliases related list.
    6. Enter information in the Provider Taxonomy Configuration to set up the provider taxonomy configuration.
    7. Enter information in the Feed Sources new record form as outlined in the table.

      Field Description
      Name Name in the text format for the new record.
      Connection

      Connection that you have newly created under the Connection & Credential Aliases module. Enter the provider URL of the feed.

      Note:
      Only public URLs are supported at this point.
      Active Check box to mark the feed source as active
      Provider
      New provider record.
      • Name
      • Description
      • Taxonomy source: Single, Multiple, or Default. Select Default option to map the taxonomy and select the design elements of the taxonomy, such as, Jurisdiction, Regulatory Body, Sector, Theme, and Content Type.

      Select Submit to add the new provider.

      1. Select Submit in the Feed Source record form to create a new feed source record.
    8. In the Feed Request Response module, view the response from the RSS feeds sources or select New to create a new feed request response.
      1. On the form, fill in the fields.

        RSS Feed Source RSS feed source for receiving the feeds.
        Response Response to the RSS feeds.
      2. Select Submit.
        A new Feed Request Response record is created.

    Result

    Once the feed source is set up and the Pull RSS Feed to Regulatory Change flow gets executed at a scheduled time, the RSS feeds data is received in the Feed Request Response table. The RSS feeds data parsed from the Feed Request Response table is displayed in the Regulatory Feeds table.
