Manage the alerts in Crisis map

    • Manage the alerts from the Crisis map interface in BCM UIB Workspace. Then you can identify a threat and its geo-location from your asset location.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_bcm.admin or sn_bcm.program_manager

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Business Continuity Workspace.
    2. In the List view, select the Crisis map icon.
    3. Select an alert record.

      This action opens the alert record in the Alerts panel. You can view the details of the record in the header of the record.

      In the Details tab, you can view the assets at risk in the Assets at Risk section. You can view the suggested actions such as Notify Stakeholders or Declare a Crisis Event in the Suggested Actions section.

      You can open the detailed view of an alert and view its corresponding impacted area on the map as shown in the following example.Alerts view in Crisis map.

    4. To open the alert details in the form view, select the Open Alert option in the Alert menu icon (Alert menu icon.).

      This action opens the record on a separate Details tab as shown in the following example.

    5. To view the response tasks that are associated with the alert, select the Response Tasks tab.
    6. To view the activity on the alert and add your comments in the Compose section, select the Activity tab.
    7. To dismiss an alert, select Dismiss Alert in the Alert menu.

      If the alert does not pose a threat currently to your employee locations, datacenters, core companies, or any of your business establishments, you can dismiss the alert. If you know that the alert would not hamper your business operations, you can dismiss it in the list view as well as in its detailed view.

      When you dismiss an alert in the list view, it is removed from the list. If you dismiss an alert from the detailed view, the alert is removed and brings you back to the list view so that you can review the other alerts in the list. In both cases, you can see a confirmation message about the dismissal of the alert.

    8. To subscribe to the alert notifications, select Subscribe by selecting the bell icon in the Alerts panel.
      When an alert or its source feed item is updated, you receive the workspace notification.
