Create a Smart Assessment template
Create a Smart Assessment template and impact automation that can be used in the vulnerability types of an operational vulnerability.
Before you begin
Role required: sn_oper_res.admin
Procedure
- Navigate to Workspaces > Assessment Workspace or navigate to All > Smart Assessment Engine > Administration > Template Categories.

Select New template.
You can create assessment templates to manage your assessments in the Assessment Workspace. The following example shows demo data in an instance.
When you select New template, the General and Questions tabs are displayed. -
In the Create assessment template form, fill in the fields.
Table 1. Create assessment template form Field Description Template name Unique meaningful name for the template. Assessment name Add text icon that includes an optional alternative name for generated assessments. The respondent sees this name rather than the template name.
Description Text that helps others to understand what the template is being used for. Template category Category that the new assessment template should be a member of. For example, Risk, Performance, Security, Personal data, and so on.
Template categories that enforce the data segregation for templates. A category controls which users can view a template. Each assessment template is associated with one or more template categories. To view a template in a category, you must have a category role that is associated with the category.

You can update a published template only if no active assessment is associated with the template.Assessment target Table records that are selected to be assessed, otherwise known as the assessment scope. Multiple tables can be added as the assessment target, which makes the scope a combination of records from each table. You can now fill in the template with instructions, questions, and optional guidance for responding to a question, as well as sections that group the related questions.

Navigate to the General tab.
- In the Details section, configure the name and description of the template in the Assessment template subsection.
- Configure the assessment template category and assessment targets in the Additional options subsection.
- In the Settings section, assign the Assessment reader role in the Assessment reader role field.
- Select Save.

Navigate to the Questions tab and set up the assessment questions.

Select Save and Publish.
A message is displayed that the assessment template is published and it can be used to send assessments. You can select OK or select Return to template list. The Automations and Scoring tabs are displayed in the assessment template.
- In the Automations tab, view the user responses and select Open to view the actions that are automatically triggered based on user responses.

Select Submit.
The Smart Assessment template is created and saved in the instance.
