Summary of Analyzing Data Integrations for Improving HAM Data Coverage
This guide outlines how to enhance Hardware Asset Management (HAM) data coverage through the analysis of existing and recommended data integrations, specifically using Discovery patterns and Service Graph Connectors. By utilizing the Data integrations tab in the CMDB success advisor, customers can assess the effectiveness of their current data sources and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Features
- Integration Overview: Displays the total count of Discovery patterns and Service Graph Connectors that contribute to HAM data in the CMDB.
- Status Indicators: Allows users to verify the activity status of Discovery patterns and the connectivity status of Service Graph Connectors.
- Attribute Coverage Insights: Provides detailed insights into which hardware asset attributes are populated by each integration, accessible via the Attribute coverage link.
- Access Integration Details: Enables users to configure integrations to improve attribute coverage.
Key Outcomes
By effectively using the CMDB success advisor for HAM, customers can:
- Identify and activate dormant Discovery patterns and Service Graph Connectors that enhance data quality.
- Prioritize hardware-related integrations to improve the completeness and accuracy of CMDB records.
- Make informed decisions on integration management, resulting in better reconciliation of hardware asset data.
Ensure that the setup process for the CMDB success advisor is complete to access these capabilities effectively.
Improve HAM data coverage by analyzing existing and suggested data integrations, including Discovery patterns and Service Graph Connectors.
Use the Data integrations tab in the CMDB success advisor for HAM to assess the effectiveness of your current data integration sources in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and identify opportunities to improve HAM data coverage. The Data integrations tab provides a breakdown of active Discovery patterns and installed Service Graph Connectors, including how many key configuration item (CI) attributes each integration source is populating.
For a quick reference to improve HAM data coverage, see Data integration checklist for HAM in CMDB success advisor.
Access data integrations
Navigate to the CMDB success advisor , and on the HAM card, select View insights. Select the Data integrations tab. To access the dashboard, see Access CMDB success advisor.
